LEWISTOWN - A 34-year-old Lewistown man was arrested Friday for a series of crimes committed just hours after his release from the Mifflin County Correctional Facility, Lewistown Police Department reports.
Police said at around 6:30 p.m., Mark J. Millard, of 321 Shaw Ave., punched a 17-year-old male in the chest while he was walking on the sidewalk along S. Main Street near Charles Street in Lewistown, knocking the juvenile to the ground. Millard then took property from the juvenile's pants and fled on foot, police said.
Police said while investigating that incident, a disturbance was reported in the rear of Valley Street near Chestnut Street. Police said when officers arrived, area residents told police that Millard was knocking on doors and challenging people to fight.
Millard was arrested at the scene, but was later discovered to be the man who had punched and stolen property from the 17-year-old male, police said.
Police said Millard has been charged with robbery, assault, harassment and disorderly conduct through the office of Magisterial District Judge Aaron Gingrich. He was placed in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 bail.
