More recently, Taliban assassins murdered a journalist in Pakistan. Mukarram Khan Atif was shot in the head while he was praying in a mosque.
Atif was a brave man who had been working for a broadcasting service funded by the U.S. government. He had persisted despite receiving numerous threats from the Taliban.
The Taliban have a vicious history of torturing and murdering anyone who questions them in even the most innocent ways. Again, they work closely with al-Qaida.
Not our "enemy"? We disagree - the Taliban prove time and time again they are the enemies of civilization itself.
