McCLURE - A 17-year-old female was ejected from her vehicle and is now listed in serious condition at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville following a one-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon on Back Maitland Road in Decatur Township, Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown and a hospital official said. Police withheld the name of the female because of her age.

The female was traveling north on Back Maitland Road toward McClure around 3:31 p.m., when the white Kia Sephia sedan she was driving veered off the roadway to the right and struck a large boulder in a small drainage ditch, according

to police.

The vehicle then rolled over and came to final rest in the opposite direction of travel. As the vehicle was rolling over, the female was ejected from the rear window.

The female was transported from the scene by Fame EMS to Lewistown Hospital and then flown to Geisinger Medical Center for what police called 'moderate injuries.' She was listed in serious condition Sunday evening, according to a nursing supervisor.

The vehicle sustained major damage.

Police were assisted on the scene by Fame EMS, Decatur Fire Co., East Derry Fire Co. and City Hook and Ladder.
