JC School Board: Former, current and new directors win

MIFFLINTOWN - Six unopposed Juniata County School Board candidates gained seats on the board of directors, according to unofficial election results Tuesday.

Two of the candidates, Ray Page in Region 5 and John Noss in Region 9, faced write-in opponents: incumbents Mark Wagner and Daniel Clark, respectively. Both Page and Noss also previously served on the school board.

According to results, Page received 406 votes to gain the seat, and there were 281 write-in votes. Noss secured 233 votes to win the position, and there were 108 write-in votes.

Only the number of write-in votes were available Tuesday. Write-in results will be tallied and released at a later date.

Other school board candidates who won seats in their unopposed races are incumbents Christine Shadel in Region 2 with 619 votes, and Danny Snyder in Region 6 with 253 votes; as well as newcomers Melvin E. Brubaker Jr. in Region 3 with 413 votes, and Glenda Ehrenzeller Leister in Region 7 with 610 votes.

Voters select candidates for the Juniata County School Board by region. The regions are: Region 1-Monroe Township, Region 2-Fayette Township, Region 3-Delaware and Susquehanna townships, Region 4-Walker Township, Region 5-Fermanagh Township, Region 6-Mifflin, Mifflintown and Thompsontown boroughs, Region 7-Beale and Milford townships, Region 8-Port Royal Borough, and Spruce Hill and Turbett townships, Region 9-Lack and Tuscarora townships.
