George and Janice (Moore) Hackenberger celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 2, 2011.
They were married at Grace United Methodist Church in Lewistown by the Rev. Joseph H. Miller.
They celebrated their anniversary with a party hosted by Rosann, Ed and Larry Moore, and nieces and nephews, all of Lewistown, and nieces and nephews, of Mifflintown.

George is retired from Conrail, as an engineer, after 25 years. He served for two years in the U.S. Army.
Janice is retired from the Juniata County School District, as a school secretary for 25 years.
They are members of the Locust Run United Methodist Church, Thompsontown.
They attribute the success of their marriage to love, honesty and being there for each other.
