Gwen Fosselman is preparing to open a new clothing consignment shop in Lewistown called Warehouse 13 on Ort Valley Road. The shop will open on Nov. 5.

Fosselman said she was inspired to open Warehouse 13 because her friend had owned a consignment shop business for about 13 years, and she liked it, she said, and wanted to give it a try herself.

"I've always been interested in this type of a business," she said.

Warehouse 13 will accept items that are clean and in good condition, Fosselman said. Payout, which will be 50-50, will be done every week.

Items that are brought in will be placed on consignment for two selling seasons, she said, and anything that's not sold after that time period will be donated to charity.

The condition the items are brought in will help determine their price, Fosselman said.

"Appearance means a lot," she said, adding that today's fashions are welcomed. "We would like them current."

In addition to customers' clothing that is brought in and accessories, Warehouse 13 will carry two lines of locally made items: Julianna's Basket Case, which are handmade baskets, and Sofa Handbags, which are handbags made with upholstery fabric, Fosselman said.

Fosselman said her main goal for Warehouse 13 is to help people who are looking to both turn clothing over, and make a profit to be able to buy new clothing. This is something many people are especially interested in, she said, given today's economic state.

Additionally, Warehouse 13 gives people the opportunity to buy name brand items at a low price, Fosselman said.

Customers must make an appointment to bring in merchandise. For more information or to make an appointment call 348-1507.
