R. Gene and Shirley (Venerick) McKelvey, of Reedsville, celebrated their 60th anniversary.
They were married on Aug. 29, 1951 in Cumberland, Md.
They celebrated their anniversary with friends and family earlier, and at the Grange Fair on the 29th.

They are the parents of Timothy, of New York City, and the late Rick. They have one grandchild: Rick and his wife Kelly, of Baltimore, Md.; and two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Alivia.
He is retired from the American General Insurance Co.
They attend the Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church in Reedsville.
They attribute the success of their marriage to their faith, their ability to talk about everything and their strong family connection.
