Big Valley BIC welcomes new pastor

BELLEVILLE - The Rev. Steven D. Munger was installed as the new pastor on Sept. 11 at the Big Valley Brethren in Christ Church.

The Rev. Douglas P. Sider, bishop in the Brethren in Christ Church, officiated at the installation service.

Early in his pastoral career, Munger served in the Free Methodist Church in Minnesota as pastor and later conference superintendent with his wife, Linda.

In 1992, they moved to Pennsylvania where Munger served as the senior pastor at the Antrim Brethren in Christ Church in Greencastle.

Then in 1999, the couple accepted an invitation from Brethren in Christ World Missions where he served as the associate director of international ministries. He provided leadership to their worldwide mission ministries.

Most recently, Munger served as senior pastor at the Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church in Mifflintown.

The Mungers said they look forward to the privilege of serving the church and the Belleville community.

The church holds sunday School at 9:30 a.m. followed by worship service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday services are held at 7:30 p.m.
