To the editor:
If you love America, Friday, Aug. 5 had to be a very, very sad day. The credit rating of the United States of America (the greatest nation on earth) was downgraded from the best possible rating of AAA to the next lowest which is AA-plus. It was the first reduction since 1917.
The only thing making Aug. 5 possibly a sadder day is: It could and should have been avoided. Incidentally, if you spend more than your income and continue to borrow money every day to maintain your way of life, your credit rating will go down too.
Some folks don't like to hear it or admit it, but the main reason can be summed up in two words: President Obama. I have been telling anyone who would listen that this man is a socialist. Many of his czars are socialists or actual communists.
But all is not lost yet. When the next election is held and the people rise up, we can get a new team consisting of Tea Party conservatives.
