Amy Filson, of Lewistown, and Ben Howard, of Olney, Md., are engaged to be married on Aug. 13 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in State College.
She is the daughter of Dave and Debbie Filson. She is a 2004 graduate of Indian Valley High School, and a 2008 graduate of Penn State University. She is a teacher in the Mifflin County School District.
He is the son of Jack and Kelly Howard. He is a 2008 graduate of Penn State University and works for the Majority Whip of the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.
