Paul A. and Evelyn A. (Espigh) Harshbarger, of McVeytown, recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
They were married on May 31, 1941, in Winchester, Va., by Pastor Norman H. Uphouse.
The special anniversary was celebrated with a family gathering at their residence for a cookout and a day of togetherness.

They are the parents of Rodney P. Harshbarger, of Lewistown. They have two grandchildren, Amy D. Sward and Edward A., of Lewistown, and Daniel P. Harshbarger and Brandy N., of McVeytown; great-grandchildren, Harlee, Drew and Matthew Harshbarger, of McVeytown; great-step grandchildren, Jessica Small and Donald W., of Fort Littleton; and Justin V. Sward, of McConnellsburg; great-great stepchildren, Kaden, Taylor and Kinsley Small, of Fort Littleton.
Paul was employed for 39 years at FMC. He served in the 8th Air Force, 52nd Fighter Control Air and Sea Rescue from 1942 to 1945.
Evelyn is a housewife and mother.
They are members of the Spring Run Church of the Brethren.
They attribute the success of their marriage to "our faith and commitment to one another."
