Allison Marie Harklerode and Tyler James Hawkins, both of Norfolk, Va., are engaged to be married on Aug. 6 in Virginia Beach, Va.
She is the daughter of Chris and Charles Harklerode Jr., of Lewistown, and the granddaughter of Bessie and Charles Harklerode Sr., and Donald and the late Marcia Hirakis, all of Lewistown.
She is a 2006 graduate of Indian Valley High School, a 2009 graduate of Lock Haven University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education, and a 2010 graduate of The College of William & Mary, with a Master of Education degree in school psychology. She is working toward an educational specialist degree in school psychology, which she expects to earn in 2012.

He is the son Teresa and Bill Maris, of Nixa, Mo. , and the grandson of retired Col. Donald and Wanda Hawkins, of Springfield, Mo., Sue Call, of Carthage, Mo., and Donald Call, of Branson, Mo.
He is a 2003 graduate of Nixa High School, in Nixa, Mo. He is a 2007 graduate of Missouri State University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, and is employed by the United States Navy, stationed in Norfolk, Va.
