MIFFLINTOWN - Laura A. Cunningham has announced her bid for one of the three Juniata County Auditor positions.
Cunningham said she previously served a term as Walker Township Auditor and also enjoyed having the opportunity to interact with community members while serving more than six years as Head Teller/CSR (customer service representative) at First National Bank of Mifflintown's Fermanagh Branch.

Cunningham said she is a member of Port Royal Lutheran Church, and has served 15 years as a Sunday school teacher and has taught confirmation classes. She also served as Call Committee Chairman and dedicated time as Vice President and Secretary of the Church Council. Cunningham currently holds the position of Juniata Valley Quilters Guild President and throughout past years, she has been a member of various other church and community committees.
Cunningham said she is married to J. Kevin Cunningham and she has lived in the county for 26 years. She and Kevin have two grown children - Ashley and Jonathan.
"I would very much like to serve the community in the capacity of county auditor," Cunningham said.
Cunningham said she feels that her past work experience and dedication to community service will make for a positive blend to fulfill the responsibilities of county auditor.
Looking ahead to the May 17 primary election, Cunningham said she would appreciate votes on the Democratic ticket and as a write-in candidate on the Republican ticket.
