Sprenkle to seek county treasurer position

PENNS CREEK - Penns Creek resident Loretta Sprenkle will seek the position of Snyder County Treasurer in the upcoming May primary, according to a press release issued Sunday by The Committee to Elect Sprenkle.

Sprenkle says, if elected, she will work to make every taxpayer dollar generate the best return on investment, manage the Treasurer's Office in a proficient manner and assure full disclosure and transparency of county finances, according to the release.

Sprenkle boasts considerable financial knowledge and experience in Snyder County as she has previously worked in the Snyder County Treasurer's Office for 15 years, serving as Deputy Tresurer for 11 years, the release states. She currently serves with Americorps, the release indicates.

Sprenkle possesses an Associate degree in Applied Science. She is active in her community, volunteering with the Penns Creek Fire Company and St. Paul's U.M. Church in Penns Creek.

Sprenkle has represented Center Township on the Snyder County Republican Committee where she held the positions of secretary and treasurer for the past 12 years. Sprenkle held various leadership positions with the S.U.N. Area Council Republican Women and was also a member of the Snyder County Council of Republican Women.

Sprenkle and her husband Robert have two adult children, Corinna and Wade; and one grandson, R.W.
