Marian E. Kipp

BURNHAM - Marian E Kipp, 89, of 226 Spruce St., Burnham, passed away at 10:09 a.m., Monday Jan. 17, 2011, at home, with her loving husband and family by her side.

She was born Nov. 2, 1921, in Barrville, and was the daughter of the late Fred and Bernice (Moyer) Righter.

Marian is survived by her husband, Paul E. Kipp, whom she married Feb. 10, 1938. This February, they would have shared 73 wonderful years together.

Also surviving is her son, John E. Kipp and wife Martha, of Mifflintown and her daughter, Dorothy L. Bradley, of Burnham.

She was preceded in death by both parents, as well as her son, Paul E. (Joe) Kipp Jr.; a son-in-law, David E Bradley; sister, Edith Mazuc and her brother, Charles (Pete) Righter.

Marian is also survived by her adored grandchildren, Greg, Todd and Mark Kipp, Beth Eisenman, Brooke Kipp, Becca Harlor, David Bradley, Danna Bingman; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Dorothy Jacobs, Glen Righter and wife Kay, Richard Righter and wife Nellie, Virginia "Ginny" Geedy and numerous nieces and nephews.

She worked for many years at the FMC Visco Corporation, went on to serve as a nurses' aid at William Penn and retired, well in to her 70s, after working as a private duty caregiver, providing comforting care to people at the end of life, in their own homes.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and fondly remembered for her beautiful, hand-made blankets, her pickled beets and "calico beans" and her daily phone calls to her children and grandchildren.

There will be no public viewing. Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 1st Ave. Burnham, PA 17009, is in charge of arrangements, and a private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family sincerely appreciates all kindness extended during this difficult time. A special thank you to all who have called, visited and sent food and cards.
