KATY, Texas - Trevor Andrew Shoemaker, 22, a native of McClure, passed away suddenly at his father's home in Texas on Nov. 5, 2010.
Born at Lewistown Hospital on July 22, 1988, Trevor was a 2007 graduate of Indian Valley High School. He was a student at Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, majoring in computer technology. Most recently he attended Houston Community College. During his high school years Trevor worked in the dietary department at William Penn Nursing Home, Lewistown.
He is survived by his parents Susan Shoemaker, of Lewistown, and Bob Shoemaker, of Katy, Texas; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Gray, of McClure, paternal grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Shoemaker, of Springfield, Mo.; brother, Derek Shoemaker, of Port Matilda; aunt, Nancy Avolese, of Middletown; and uncle, Bill Shoemaker, of Springfield, Mo.
Trevor truly loved animals of all kinds and went to great lengths to care for them, yet he very much enjoyed going hunting with his grandfather. He loved the outdoors, especially skiing at Tussey Mountain during the winter months. He spent much of his spare time with computers, and he had many online friends and acquaintances. Writing was his great passion. He wrote many poems, essays, and short stories that we will have to remember him by.
A memorial service and celebration of Trevor's life is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 E. Logan St., Reedsville.
