The Rev. John M. and Faith (Slagenweit) Keefer, of Burnham, recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
They were married on June 6, 1970, at Martinsburg Brethren in Christ Church by the Rev. Andrew Slagenweit, uncle of the bride, and Rev. Jacob Bowers, uncle of the groom.
The special anniversary was celebrated with a trip to Georgia to visit their oldest son and his family, and a party hosted by their daughter at her home in Tennessee.

They are the parents of: John Mark and Cristal, of Canton, Ga.; Joy and Wesley McDonald, Ethridge, Tenn.; and Joel, of Yeagertown. They have nine grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
He is employed as pastor at Big Valley Brethren in Christ Church, Belleville.
She is a homemaker.
They attribute the success of their marriage to "keeping the Lord in the center of our home, praying together, learning to say 'I'm sorry.' and putting the other's wants ahead of our own."
