LEWISTOWN - Mary E. Whitesel, 71, of Lewistown died at 8:20 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Aug. 7, 1938, in Fermanagh Township, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late Guy M. and Arlene O. (Bland) Hockenberry and her late stepfather James W. Hockenberry.
Surviving are one son, David A. Whitesel, of Lewistown, one sister, Shirley H. Schlegel, one nephew, Carl "Sonny" Schlegel Jr. and his wife Anita and their children Andrew and Angela, all of Mifflintown, also she will be missed by her two cats Tyke and Polly.
She was a 1956 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Lewistown.
Mary was known throughout Central Pennsylvania for her sale of Tupperware and through her career she loved meeting and talking with people.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2010, from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with the Elder Horst VonDorpowski officiating. Interment will be private and held at the Upper Tuscarora Presbyterian Cemetery, Waterloo.
Viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the funeral home.
