Catherine V. Ellsworth Snyder

LEWISTOWN - Catherine V. Ellsworth Snyder, 45, of 24 West Charles Street, Lewistown, died at 12:25 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born Nov. 3, 1964, in New Brunswick, N.J., she was the daughter of the late John Lyons Gasey and Catherine (Burns) Gasey.

She is survived by her husband, Barry K. Snyder.

Catherine also is survived by her children, Joseph A. Wilk, of Wilkes-Barre, Robert T. Wilk, of Lewistown, Thomas J. Wilk, of Wilkes-Barre; and her step-children, Heidi L. Snyder, of Orlando, Fla., Aletha M. Hafer and husband, Brian, of Six Mile Run, Joshua D. Snyder, of Six Mile Run and eight grandchildren.

She also is survived by her brothers and sisters, William Gasey, of Ashboro, N.C., Nancy Roman, of Ashboro, N.C., Dorothy Lewis, of Wilkes-Barre, John Gasey Jr., Michael Gasey and Richard Gasey, all of Ashboro, N.C.

Catherine was employed as a certified nurses aide.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Paintersville C&MA Church, 3195 Back Maitland Road, Lewistown, with the Rev. Thomas Wright and the Rev. Richard Moss officiating.

Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

There will be no public viewing; however, family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 342 S. Logan Blvd., Burnham, PA 17009.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
