SPRING MILLS - Pauline L. Foust, 85, of rural Spring Mills, died on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at Lewistown Hospital.
She was born May 29, 1924, in Pleasant Gap, a daughter of the late Forrest and Edna Williams Johnson.
On April 3, 1943, she was married in Coral Gables, Fla., to Robert A. "Bob" Foust, who preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 2009.
Early in life, Pauline worked at Sylvania in Lock Haven, and during World War II she worked at the former Titan Metals at Bellefonte.
She also was employed at the former Bellefonte Hospital. For most of her life, in addition to being a homemaker, she assisted her husband with the family business, Bob Foust Appliances of Centre Hall and State College.
Pauline was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Centre Hall. She enjoyed gardening, especially working with flowers, and doing lawn work.
Along with Bob, she enjoyed the wildlife, peaceful quiet and gentle sunsets of their Potters Mills residence and the company of children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She had a life-long fascination with hummingbirds.
Mrs. Foust is survived by two daughters, Darla Dunlap (John) and Kathleen Zimmerman (Tom Krape); two sons, Dennis Foust (Cynthia), all of rural Spring Mills, and Robert Foust Jr (Judy) of Coburn; nine grandchildren Swayne(Sara), Scott, Sean Dunlap (Karen), Deneen Keller (David), Neil Foust, Marshall (Emily) and Deanna Zimmerman, Dawn Dean (Ray) and Budd Foust; 11 great-grandchildren Matthew, Kama, and Ethan (Scott), Ryan, Tyler, and Shayla (Sean), David and Clarissa (Deneen), Erica Deavor (Neil), and Garrett and Jordan Evans (Dawn); one sister Ruth Bressler of Centre Hall; and two brothers, James Johnson (Jean) of Pleasant Gap, and Kenneth Johnson (Marion), of Womelsdorf.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Kevin Zimmerman; great-grandson, Layne Zimmerman; one sister, Sarah Mitchell, of Bellefonte; and four brothers, Rodney, Nevin and Harold Johnson, of Pleasant Gap, and Fred Johnson, of Bellefonte.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall, with the Rev. Scott A. Klimke officiating. Burial will be in Sprucetown Cemetery, Upper Georges Valley Road, Spring Mills.
