Russell Kearns

LEWISTOWN - Russell Kearns, 52, of Montgomery Avenue, Lewistown, died on Dec. 29, 2009, in the emergency room in Lewistown Hospital.

Born Feb. 27, 1957, in Lewistown, he was the son of Norman Kearns and Joan Fisher Kearns, of 3210 522 N., Lewistown. His companion, Marline Burkholder, survives.

Also surviving is a daughter, Tonya Wolfley, of Pittsburgh; two grandsons; and several brothers and sisters, Norman Kearns Jr., of Lewistown, Jeffrey Kearns, of Mount Union, Paul Kearns, of Lewistown, Saundra McMillin, of Lewistown, Wanda Duncan, of Lewistown, Douglas Kearns, of Lewistown and Gregory Kearns, of McConnellsburg.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and cared deeply about wildlife.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 3, 2010, at Lawver's United Methodist Church, McClure, with the Rev. Cecily A. Eisley officiating. Interment will be private.

Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
