LEWISTOWN - Mildred Ruth Anderson, 83, of 1011 West 5th St., Lewistown, and Mount Union, died on Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at William Penn Nursing Center, Lewistown.

Mildred was born on June 15, 1926, in Atkinson Mills, the daughter of the late Mack M. and Eva (Woodward) Rhodes.

She was united in marriage to John Anderson o June 29, 1946, in Baltimore, Md. Her husband preceded her in death on April 5, 2004.

Mildred is survived by the following brothers and sisters, Eva "Grace" Pressler, Wilbur Rhodes, Dorothy Workinger, Pearl Robinson, Claire Rhodes and Earlene Miles.

Also surviving are number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Dale Rhodes, Jay Rhodes, Elizabeth Winn, Alma Shaak and Mary Rhodes.

Mrs. Anderson graduated from Mount Union High School.

Earlier in her life, she worked at Viscose Corp., Lewistown, and had helped taking care of the elderly.

She was of the Catholic faith.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with Fr. George Koharchik officiating. The graveside service will be held at the funeral home, with interment to be made in Haven Rest Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 10 until the time of services at the funeral home.
