LEWISTOWN - Two Burnham residents and a New York man were arrested after police conducted a controlled buy of cocaine from them on Saturday, according to court documents filed through the office of Magisterial District Judge Tammy Hunter.
Travis W. Joseph, 20, of 1248 Noble Ave., Bronx, N.Y., and Franklin G. Wilt, 47, of 1019 N. Beech St., Burnham, were charged with criminal conspiracy and manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, while Deneane Ann Moody, 47, also of 1019 N. Beech St., Burnham, was charged with criminal conspiracy and two counts of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance.
An informant working with Mifflin County Regional Police was contacted by Moody on Saturday and advised that a person known as "Jamaican", later identified as Joseph, was in town and the informant could buy crack cocaine from him, documents indicate. The informant contacted Moody and told her they wished to purchase $200 worth of cocaine, and Moody agreed to deliver the substance to a location along East Third Street in Lewistown, according to court documents.
The informant received three dark brown plastic packages containing a hard off-white substance from Moody for $200 and a field test of the substance was positive for cocaine, documents indicate. On Saturday, police executed a search warrant on the Burnham home where Wilt and Moody live and found Joseph at the home and in possesion of approximately 10 packets of suspected crack cocaine along with the $200 received from the informant, documents state.
Wilt told police he picked up Joseph from a bus station in Harrisburg on Friday and he received $50 worth of cocaine from Joseph in exchange for driving Joseph to Burnham, documents indicate. Moody told police she delivered cocaine to friends on four occasions on Saturday, documents indicate. According to documents, Joseph told police he gave Wilt and Moody cocaine for allowing him to stay at their home and that the cocaine was only for their personal consumption.
All three are incarcerated in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail each.
