BELLEVILLE - Sara E. McGinnis, 78, a resident of Valley View Haven, Belleville and formerly of 43 Goss Terrace, died at 8:50 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at Valley View Haven.

Born June 18, 1931, in Ebensburg, she was the daughter of the late Daniel T. and Harriet (Lightner) Roberts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald P. McGinnis on Feb. 28, 1992.

She is survived by her children, Janet K. Finkle and her husband Robert, Carlisle; Daniel J. McGinnis and his wife Chriss, Hollidaysburg; Annette Zeigler and her husband Robert, Lewistown; Gregg R. McGinnis and his wife Kimberly, Lewistown and Cara Walters and her husband Thomas, Lewistown; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She also is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Hill and her husband James, Lower Burrell; and Carol Link and her husband Howard, Westminster, Md.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Roberts.

Sara was a homemaker and previously co-owned the Country Garden Market with her husband for 16 years.

She was a member of the Lake Park United Methodist Church.

Her funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., with the Rev. Bernard Carpenter officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
