Jack L. Sherlock

LEWISTOWN - Jack L. Sherlock, 56, of 3398 SR 103 North, died at 12:12 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at the Lewistown Hospital.

Born Nov. 27, 1953, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Kenneth B. Sherlock Sr. and Miriam R. (Goss) Sherlock.

He is survived by his companion, Dawn M. Haffly, with whom he resided.

He also is survived by his children, Michelle M. Sherlock Stuter and her husband Christopher of Lewistown and James K. Sherlock of Reedsville; grandchildren, Michael and Haley Minium; brothers and sister, Gregory E. Sherlock of Yeagertown; Douglas D. Sherlock and his wife Marsha of Belleville; and Annette L. Crownover and her husband Miles of Lewistown.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Jr. and Dennis Sherlock.

He was a graduate of Lewistown High School class of 1971.

Jack was employed as a furnace technician for Snedeker Oil Company for over 26 years.

He was a member of the VFW Post 7011, Lewistown, and the City Hook and Ladder Fire Company

Jack had a big heart; he appreciated all his loyal customers, he enjoyed the outdoors, football and was greatly loved by his children and grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., with the Rev. George Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 342 S. Logan Blvd., Burnham, PA 17009.
