REEDSVILLE - Phyllis E. Swayne, 83, of Progress Avenue, Reedsville passed away at 8:38 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Lewistown Hospital.

Phyllis was born Dec. the 5, 1926, in Malden, Mass. The daughter of the late John R and Edith (Herrick) Daesen. She was preceded by her husband John (Jack) Swayne Jan. 30, 1998.

Phyllis is survived by the following children, Vera Thomas and husband George of Reedsville; Virginia Carr of Kinzers; James Swayne and wife Liz of Florida; John C. Swayne and wife Kathy of Connecticut.

She was preceded by a sister, Virginia D'Olympio, one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter.

Phyllis was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Lewistown, Women of the Moose, a volunteer for 4-H and Boy Scouts of America.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, N. Dorcas Street, Lewistown, with Rev. Fr. William Weary officiating.

Interment will be in Union Memorial Gardens Mifflintown. A Viewing will be held Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Barr Funeral Home, Inc. 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
