Esther R. Peachey

BELLEVILLE - Esther R. Peachey, 75, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, died at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at the Haven

Born Sept. 6, 1934, in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Samuel C. "Millikan Sam" Yoder and Arie (Byler) Yoder. Her husband, Simon J. Peachey, whom she married on June 26, 1956, preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 1998.

Surviving are: children, Joyce Burkholder and husband Mark, of Chambersburg, Esther Crawford and husband Gene, of Mechanicsburg, Allen R. Peachey and wife Aremina, of Belleville, Deborah Mansell and husband John, of Centre Hall and Rosella J. Wagner and husband James, of Pennsylvania Furnace.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Curtis, Katie and Julie Burkholder, Anita Zeiset, Cindy Crawford, Simon Sarah and Amanda Peachey, Pam and Doug Mansell and Anthony Wagner; great-grandchildren, Annika Burkholder and Ariana Zeiset; brothers and sisters, Anna Hostetler and husband Sollie, of Belleville, Mary Kurtz, of Belleville, her twin sister, Elsie Yoder and husband Benjamin, of Millersburg, Beulah Kauffman and husband John, of Reedsville, David W. Yoder and wife Sara, of McVeytown, Frances Kanagy and husband Leon, of Chambersburg, Marlin Yoder and wife Karen, of Buhler, Kan., Raymond Yoder and friend Nancy Erb, of Reedsville and John Yoder and wife Joyce of Buhler, Kan.

She was preceded in death by a brother Samuel "Sonny" Yoder and a sister Arlene Spicher.

She was a homemaker and a member of Big Valley Brethren in Christ Church in Belleville. She enjoyed cooking and baking

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Big Valley Brethren in Christ Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at Valley View Amish Mennonite Church, with Pastors John M. Keefer and J. Richard Lehman officiating. Burial will be at Locust Grove Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of the Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville, PA 17004.
