Eva Mable King
MATTAWANA Eva Mable King, 80, formerly of Mattawana and currently a resident of Valley View Haven in Belleville, passed on to meet her Heavenly Father at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009.
She will be so thrilled to meet her beloved Savior whom she has lived for faithfully all her life.
To welcome her will be her parents, Daniel David King, and Alta Mae (French) King, to whom she was born May 23, 1929, a sister Esther Mae (King) Miller, and a beloved nephew, Rev. Stanley D. Smith.
Surviving are a sister, Anna Mary (King) Smith and husband Richard E. of Lewistown; nieces and nephews Marvin E. Smith and wife Elaine of Lewistown, Thelma A. (Smith) Gillispie and husband William of Reedsville, Charlene J. (Smith) Fuller and husband Edward of Elliotsburg, D. Leon Miller and wife Barbara of Mattawana, Mervin Miller and wife Wilma of Belleville, Ruth (Miller) Zook and husband Alan of McVeytown.
Eva attended the Bratton Township School.
She did domestic work for several local families and helped on the family farm.
She was a member of the Mattawana Mennonite Church, the ladies Sunday school class, and the W.M.S.C. Sewing Circle.
Well known for her fine quilting, she made many quilts for people both near and far.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mattawana Mennonite Church with Ministers M. Leon Yoder and Daniel Hobbs officiating.
Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at the church.
