Time to revisit story of the ‘Pork Parable’

December 10, 2009
Lewistown Sentinel

To the editor:

I believe the Pork Parable deserves to be revisited one more time. It might be the last time it will have any meaning. It is the Preamble to the Liberal and Progressive Constitution whose signers are the power-grabbing, money-grubbing members of both parties.

First, let's define what "pigs" mean to this group: It is an animal that sometimes votes and most times believe its vote doesn't count. The pigs have small brains and are not able to distinguish what is best for the herd; hence smarter people must do their thinking. Now for the parable.

We, the Progressive Members of Congress, in order to form a perfect country, must place corn in a suitable surrounding. The pigs will find the corn and come to eat. It is mandated that a committee of officials selected by their President will construct a Progressive fence on all four sides. The pigs, being mentally challenged, will panic but will be told to eat the free corn, stop complaining and be grateful. And they will live happily ever after.

The fourth side of this fence is about to be erected; it has two main rails - Cap and Trade and Obama Health Care.

Many of these pigs, like me, are senior porkers. Have you read the bill? Are you ready for the slaughterhouse?

Many are piglets. Are you ready to spend the rest of your years giving your earnings to a group of progressives and being thankful for a small allowance?

You elected these swine herders. You have the power to retire them. Join a "9-12" or "Tea Party" organization and call your senators and congressmen.

Also, remember that when an enemy threatens a herd of swine, they can give new meaning to the word "NASTY."
