JMS boys drop to 0-2From staff reports
WATSONTOWN - The Juniata Mennonite boys basketball team got off to its second consecutive slow start on Tuesday night en route to a 36-22 Allegheny Athletic Christian Academy defeat at the hands of Watsontown Christian.
"They played a different game than Sunbury Christian played (Monday night)," Lions coach Dennis Zimmerman said. "They really played an inside game and our weak-side defense just didn't get there. There were a lot of times where they got three or four shots at the basket because of offensive rebounds - we weren't boxing out and that was the difference in tonight's game."
The bright spot on the night was Joe Barner - who scored a game-high 14 points.
"In the fourth quarter, Joe had 10 points," Zimmerman said. "He's a hustler and he'll do just fine - the fourth quarter showed that."
The Lions (0-2) are back in action against New Columbia on Thursday.
