PHOENIX, Ariz. - Susan Jane Douty, 59, of Phoenix, Ariz., died on Nov. 12, 2009.

She was born on June 4, 1950, in Huntingdon County, the daughter of the late Harold A. Douty and Dorothy Elison Douty, formerly of McAlisterville.

Surviving are: a sister, Jean Quickel and her husband Bob, of York; and two brothers, George Douty and his wife Linda, of Mifflintown and Craig Douty and his wife Tracey, of Camp Hill.

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Lester A. Douty.

Susan graduated from East Juniata High School and Lock Haven State College with a bachelor of science degree. She worked at Fort Indiantown Gap before moving to Arizona.

A memorial service will be held for Susan's friends and family at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6, at the McAlisterville United Memorial Church, with Pastor Vaughn Glover officiating.

A final disposition of her ashes will be made in the summer of 2010 by her family and friends at a private service in Sedona, Ariz., where she loved to walk among the Red Rocks.
