Hettie H. Swarey

ALLENSVILLE - Hettie H. Swarey, 73, of 652 Front Mountain Road, Allensville, died at 4:40 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at her home.

Born March 10, 1936, in Allensville, she was a daughter of the late Noah L. Peachey and Hettie M. Yoder. Her husband, Shem O. Swarey Sr., whom she married Dec. 1, 1955, survives at their residence.

Surviving are children, Lomie K. Yoder and husband David, of Jackson, Ohio, Daniel C. Swarey and wife Mary, of Mill Creek, Susie E. Kanagy and husband Aquilla, of Allensville, Thomas L. Swarey and wife Lena, of Belleville, Willie D. Swarey and wife Leah, of Belleville, Fannie E. Peachey and husband Daniel R. Jr., of Allensville, Shem O. Swarey Jr., and wife Nancy, of Little Fall, N.Y., Emanuel J. Swarey and wife Ada, of Allensville, Aaron M. Swarey and wife Fannie, of Allensville, David C. Swarey and wife Sylvia, of Mill Creek; 99 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by the following brothers and a sister, Joseph N. Peachey, of Belleville, a twin brother, Daniel N. Peachey, of Belleville, Steven N. Peachey, of Allensville and Lizzie Kanagy, of Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Hettie M. Swarey in 2002; a stillborn son, John S. Swarey in 1978; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren and siblings, Ezra Y. Peachey, Samuel T. Peachey, Kore N. Peachey and David N. Peachey.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Services will be held at noon on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, at the Aquilla Swarey residence, with Ministers Noal L. Peachey and Joseph E. Peachey officiating. Burial will take place in Allensville Amish Mennonite Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 1 to 9 p.m. on Saturday at her residence.

Arrangements are under the care of Baggus Funeral Home, 3813 W. Main St., Belleville, PA 17004.
