LEWISTOWN - Dennis W. McKnight, 57, of 650 Guss Road, Lewistown, died at 3:14 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital.

Born Nov. 16, 1952, in Lewistown, he was a son of Gladys M. (Harbst) McKnight, of Shrader and the late David W. McKnight. His wife, Carolyn S. (Shumaker) McKnight, whom he married July 2, 1981, survives.

Also surviving are children, Denise L. Tate and husband Leonard, of McClure, Carrie A. Kauffman and husband David W., of McVeytown, Tara S. Miller, of Duncannon, Jonathan P. McKnight and wife Amanda A., of McClure, Patrick W. McKnight and Nicholas G. McKnight, both of Lewistown; brothers and sisters, Charles E. McKnight and wife Nancy, of Belleville, Brenda H. Jay, of New York, Bonnie L. Watson and husband Richard, of Pittsburgh, David W. McKnight Jr., of Reedsville, Judy I. Marks and husband Rodney, of Reedsville and Merle R. McKnight and wife Patricia, of Elizabethtown; 12 grandchildren, Taylor, Skyler and Haven Tate, Morgan, Scott and Nathan Kauffman, Seth Haas, Issac, Noah, Caden, Wesley and Grant McKnight.

He was a 1971 graduate of Penn Highlands and was a production supervisor for Hanover Foods in Centre Hall for 30 years.

He enjoyed farming, raising animals and spending time with his Amish friends. He also enjoyed caving and spending quality and caring time with his children and grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. James Yoder officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
