MIFFLINBURG - Richard L. Klose, 69, of Rolling Hills Manor, and formerly of Raven Lane, passed away at 7 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at Rolling Hills Manor.
He was born Dec. 20, 1939, in Sunbury, a son of the late Edgar and Mary Ellen (Swanger) Klose. On Aug. 1, 1965, he married the former Sandra S. King, whom survives.
Richard was a 1959 graduate of Chief Logan High School, now Indian Valley High School. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He was employed as a expediter and production control for Case-New Holland, Belleville.
He attended Beaver Lutheran Church, Beavertown, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Belleville, and the Air National Guard, State College.
Richard enjoyed working outdoors and landscaping, watching Penn State football, Phillies baseball, NASCAR, and watching westerns and the History channel on TV. His other interests were hunting, fishing, classic cars and loved being with his friends and family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Troy A. Klose and Alec R. Klose, both of Mechanicsburg and Jason C. Klose, of Mifflinburg; one sister, Gloria J. Elsesser, of Lewistown; one aunt, Anna Mae Lepley, of Beaver Springs; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Beaver Lutheran Church, Beavertown, where the funeral will follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. Lois Martin, officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Beavertown.
Contributions in Richard's memory may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
