William A. “Bill” Fosselman

COCOLAMUS - William A. "Bill" Fosselman, 78, of Cocolamus died at 4:25 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at the Lewistown Hospital.

Born April 24, 1931, in Fayette Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Maxwell and Lula M. (Hoffman) Fosselman. His wife of more than 56 years, Martha A. (Mengle) Fosselman, whom he married on Oct. 17, 1953, survives.

In addition to his wife he is survived by: five daughters, Diane Hornberger of Richfield, Debra Brubaker and her husband Daryl of East Salem, Brenda Jones and her husband Randy of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Karen Fosselman of Selinsgrove, Sheryl Walters and her companion Barry Aucker of Mt. Pleasant Mills, one brother, Dale Fosselman and his wife Ruth Ann of McAlisterville, and he leaves behind nine grandchildren, Timothy Hornberger and his wife Allison, Kevin Walters, Cody Jones, Jeffrey Brubaker, Beth Young and her husband Matthew, Kristen Phillips and her husband Steve, Kimberly Brubaker, Briana Fosselman, and Leah Jones, also two great-grandsons, Nicolas and Carter Young.

One son-in-law, Neil A. Hornberger preceded him in death.

He was a member of Niemonds Independent Church, Richfield, the Richfield Lions Club, and the United Steel Workers of America Local No. 1940.

In 1990 he retired as a machinist from Standard Steel, Burnham. He also, along with his wife, owned and operated a poultry farm.

William enjoyed hunting, spending time at his cabin in Heister Valley and going to the County Line Restaurant for coffee and to catch up on all of the local news. However his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with the Pastor J. Arthur Mott officiating. Interment will follow in the Richfield Union Cemetery, Richfield.

Viewing will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday.
