Lewistown man killed in crash
By Megan Bollinger Sentinel reporter mbollinger@lewistownsentinel.comLEWISTOWN - An early morning accident claimed the life of a Lewistown man today, according to the Mifflin County Coroner's office.
A release issued by the coroner's office states that the Granville Township police are investigating an accident which occurred at approximately 1:50 a.m. on Nov. 5 morning along U.S. 522.
Police report one vehicle rolled over and the two occupants in the vehicle were ejected. Both occupants were transported to Lewistown Hospital by Fame EMS.
One of the accident victims, Christopher S. Burke, 38, of 78 Logan St., was pronounced dead at 2:55 a.m. at the emergency room of the Lewistown Hospital. Chief Deputy Coroner Barbara Barker said Burke died of multiple blunt force trauma.
Police were also assisted at the scene by City Hook and Ladder and Highland Park fire departments along with Derry Township fire police.
