The Rev. Jeffrey Thoms, Erika Vasquez and third-grade pupils from Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School pray for friends and family who have died on Thursday during the Spanish classes' Day of the Dead celebration. Vasquez told the pupils about holiday traditions like a special altar that they set up to honor and pray for their dead family and friends. The Day of the Dead holiday is celebrated in collaboration with All Saints and All Souls days on Nov. 1 and 2.
