Nellie-Mae (Carolus) Bantz

MECHANICSBURG - Nellie-Mae (Carolus) Bantz, 66, passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at her son's home in Mechanicsburg.

Born in Lewistown, on Aug. 30, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Robert R. and Janet P. Carolus. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert R. Jr.

Nellie-Mae was a 1961 graduate of Lewistown High School.

She worked at the book of the Month Club, Konhaus Farms and Halls Motor Transit before early retirement in Florida. She also was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, James C. Bantz, whom she married on Feb. 17, 1987; sister W. Jaynee Carolus, of Lewistown; two sons, A. Benjamin Calhoun, of Mechanicsburg and Alex B. Calhoun (wife Susan) of New Cumberland; daughter Angela Calhoun Tennis (husband Skip) of Lewisberry; stepson, Jeff Bantz, of Harrisburg; granddaughter, Bonnie Blair Calhoun; step granddaughter, Mandy Tennis and step grandsons, Michael and Brian Bellmann.

She will be missed by her dog, Bee Bee.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michael Minnix officiating.

A private burial will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap at the family's convenience.

Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, 135 West Simpson St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.

Arrangements entrusted to Myers Funeral Home of Mechanicsburg.
