LEWISTOWN - A Lewistown man will be charged with attempted homicide and other related offenses after beating up his sister on Saturday morning, Granville Township Police Department reports.
Police said they were dispatched at 1:45 a.m. on Saturday to a residence at 325 Terrace Blvd. in Lewistown for a reported fall victim. Police said Lewis Powell Jr., 45, asked a neighbor to call 911 for an ambulance after he assaulted his sister, Lisa Wilson, of Lewistown.
"He just beat her up, punched and kicked her," Granville Township Police Sgt. James Carter said.

Carter said police have not yet determined what prompted Powell to strike Wilson, but did indicate that Powell was intoxicated during the incident. Carter said Powell would not speak with police and attempts to interview Wilson were not successful as she was "in and out of consciousness."
Carter said Wilson was transported to Hershey Medical Center with multiple broken bones and bruising. A representative at the hospital said Wilson was not listed as a patient there.
Powell is incarcerated at Mifflin County Correctional Facility on a parole detainer and faces charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another. Police said charges will be filed by Wednesday.
Police were assisted by Fame EMS, Granville Township Fire Police, Junction Fire Department and Pennsylvania State Police Forensics from Hollidaysburg.
