Attempted murder reported
LEWISTOWN - Attempted murder and other charges are being filed against a Lewistown man after an incident early Saturday morning on Terrace Boulevard, in Lewistown, Granville Township Police report.
Police said that about 1:45 a.m. Saturday, they initially were dispatched to the street for a fall incident involving Lisa Wilson of Lewistown. A neighbor called 911 for an ambulance after Lewis Powell Jr. had advised the neighbor to do so, police said. Wilson was transported by Fame EMS for treatment, police said.
Police said they are investigating the incident and charges will be filed against Powell for attempted murder, aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another.
Powell is lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility.
Police said they plan to release more information this afternoon.
Police were assisted by Fame EMS, Granville Township Fire Police, Junction Fire Department and Pennsylvania State Police Forensics from Hollidaysburg.
