Barbara Treaster

YEAGERTOWN - Barbara Treaster, 65, of Yeagertown, died on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at home.

She was born on Nov. 9, 1943, in New Philadelphia and was the daughter of the late Robert and Arlene (Mengle) Moyer.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Walter L. Treaster whom she married in 1968.

She also is survived by a son, Robert J. Treaster and his wife Arlene of Milroy; a daughter Tami L. Treaster of Lewistown; a son Timothy M. Treaster of Yeagertown and a son Ned A. Treaster and his wife Nichole of Yeagertown.

She also is survived by one brother, Edward Moyer of Marietta, Ohio and two sisters Shirley Roach of New Tripoli and Mary Violet Carberry of Rhode Island.

Barbara also leaves behind the following grandchildren: Justin Ewing and wife Adele of Japan; John Ewing and wife Joy of Warriors Mark; Garrick Treaster of Lewistown; Ambra Treaster of Milroy; Austin and Colby Treaster of Yeagertown; and Holley Laughlin of Lewistown; and great-grandchildren Jordan, Clayton, Catherine (Catie), Patrick and Dylan Ewing.

She was preceded in death by a still born son; brothers, Earl "Sonny" Ney and Jerry Ney and sisters Florence "Flossy" Generella and Blanche McNulty.

Barbara was a waitress at Tony's, Chilcoats, The Green Gables and various other local restaurants. She enjoyed her family, camping with friends and bingo. She graduated from Blue Mountain High School in 1961.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Yeagertown with the Rev. Philip Tundel officiating.

Interment will be in the Holy Communion Lutheran Cemetery in Yeagertown.

A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., in Lewistown.

Memorials can be made to the Holy Communion Church, North Main Street, Yeagertown, PA 17099.
