HARRISBURG - David Charles Hassinger, 64, of Lower Paxton Township, died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, in Harrisburg Hospital.

He was a Fiscal Technician Supervisor for the Office of the Inspector General, Commonwealth of PA, Harrisburg and spent many years as comptroller for Forbes Chevrolet and Sutliff Chevrolet.

Dave was a member of American Legion Post 143, New Cumberland and was an avid golfer and member of Valley Green Golf Club, Etters.

Dave was born in Lewistown to the late Daniel and Elizabeth (Bland) Hassinger.

He is survived by his wife Patricia A. (Shadel) Hassinger; his two daughters, Lori M. Baldwin of Bennington, N.H. and Lisa M. Pyle, of Harrisburg; a brother, Thomas, of Burnsville, Minn.; a sister Dana Frye, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and three loving grandchildren, Jennifer Pyle, Selina Baldwin and Liam Baldwin.

A celebration of Dave's life will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland.

In lieu of flowers, Dave's family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to benefit his grandchildren. These memorial contributions may be made payable to Patricia A. Hassinger and mailed c/o Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, P.O. Box 431 New Cumberland, PA 17070.
