James Marlin Savercool
MILLERSTOWN - James Marlin Savercool, of Millerstown, passed away at the wheel of his beloved truck on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009.
He was born Jan. 18, 1952, the son of Ray G. and Mildred (Mowery) Savercool.
He was a lifetime truck driver and was currently employed by Liberty Transportation of Greensburg.
He served in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of the Newport American Legion No. 177, the VFW Post 7463 in New Bloomfield, and the Hunters Valley Sportsmen Association.
He was an avid sports fan and played soccer and softball when he was younger. He was a Nascar fan and the late Dale Earnhardt was his favorite driver.
His greatest love was his truck.
Jim is survived by his parents; his son, Joshua Federer, stationed at Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, Texas; brother, Michael Savercool and his wife Darlene of Richfield; sister, Teresa Weiand and husband Greg, of Millerstown, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruth Savercool.
A memorial service will be held on at 7:30 p.m. Friday from the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Patricia Woolever officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
