Thelma E. Swab

BEAVERTOWN - Thelma E. Swab, 85, of Beavertown passed away at 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Brookline Manor, where she had been a resident since April. She had been a resident of Berry's Personal Care Home, Mifflintown from 2006 through April.

Thelma was born Aug. 26, 1923, in Milford Twp., Juniata Co. a daughter of the late John A. and Mary K. (Musser) Geedey. April 25, 1945, she married the late Charles E. Swab, Sr., who passed away April 1, 1998.

She was a member of the Beavertown Kingdom Hall. She was last employed as a presser in Thompsontown. She was a member of the Rescue Hose Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Carlo Romig, of Beaver Springs; three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles E. "Ed" Swab, Jr. and Karen, of Beavertown, Ronald L. Swab, Berry's Personal Care Home, Mifflintown and Terry L. and Debra Swab, of Middleburg; grandchildren, Amy, Amanda, Brad, Tammy, Angela, Kelly, Jonathan, Jason, Stephanie and Chad; 14 great-grandchildren, Erin, Ryan, Cara, Christine, Dustin, Emily, Elizabeth, Becci, Justin, Aaron, Brandon, Cheyenne, Logan and Marli; three great-great-grandchildren, Christopher, Lauryn and Aidan; two sisters, Helen Casner, of Mifflin and Jean Aurand, of Port Royal and two brothers, Harry Geedey, of Mifflin and Raymond Geedey, of Mifflintown.

She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Christopher Swab in 1988 and Paul C. Romig, in 1990; a great-granddaughter, Ashley Bender, in 2005, sister, Hope Watts and two brothers, J. Russell and Boyd A. Geedey.

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Aurand Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown by Speaker, Greg Ritter.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 until the time of service Friday. The interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Beavertown.
