Jan G. Fultz

MILROY - Jan G. Fultz, 64, of 25 Scent Lane, Milroy, died at 1:34 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009, at Lewistown Hospital.

Born Dec. 17, 1944, in Lewistown, he was a son of Betty (Flowers) Fultz, of Vira and the late Curtis J. Fultz. His wife, Vicki (Treaster) Fultz, whom he married April 12, 1985, survives.

Also surviving: two children, Tonia M. Fultz of Lewistown and her fiance Robert La Cass, and A. Timothy Fultz of Milroy and fiancee Holly Knepp; four brothers and a sister, Rodger C. Fultz and wife Darlis, of McClure, James L. Fultz and wife Ruth, of Bellefonte, Pamela L. McCardle and husband Dennis, of Lexington, Ky., Noal W. Fultz and fiancee Bonnie, of Milroy and Leslie M. Fultz and wife Barbara, of Burnham; three granddaughters, Hailey Ann Fultz and her mother Bobbie Sue Minium, of Lewistown, Brandi Lynn and Sierra Abrionna Fultz, of Milroy; many nieces and nephews and two very special little boys whom he loved very much, Ashton James "AJ" Howard, of Lewistown, and Joel "Joey" Gilkerson, of Lithicum, Md.

He was a 1963 graduate of Kish High School and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam Era, having served in Germany.

He was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections of SCI Rockview, retiring in 2007 due to illness.

Everyone who knew Jan loved him. He was a loving and caring husband who not only nursed his wife during her illness, but his mother-in-law as well. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who was adored by his children and grandchildren. He also had a great love of animals and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

His funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 108 First Ave., Burnham, with the Rev. Karen McCachren officiating.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. Tuesday until the time of service at the funeral home.
