Robert E. Barlett

MILROY - Robert E. Barlett, 66, of 180 Locke Mills Rd., Milroy, died at 10:25 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2009, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born Jan. 4, 1943 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Paul R. and Blanche I. (Miller) Barlett. His wife, Jennifer C. (Phillips) Barlett, whom he married on Dec. 5, 1964, survives.

He is also survived by two children, Wendy S. Strohecker and husband Jeffrey, of New Lancaster Valley, Milroy, and Melissa M. Price and husband John, of Lewistown, five grandchildren, Natasha L. and Whitney P. Strohecker, and Dakota J.,Ethan R. and Zachary C. Knable, and sisters, Ellen Romig, of McClure, Marie Grose, of Lewistown, Donna Narehood, of Lewistown, Linda Bell, of Mifflintown, and Betty Gaisor, of Lebanon.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a grandson, Zane J. Strohecker, and two brothers, Charles Barlett and Donald Paul Barlett.

He retired from Standard Steel, Burnham, in 2001 and was a United States Navy veteran.

He was a life member of Yeagertown Fire Co., and United Steel Workers of America and was a 1960 graduate of Lewistown High School.

Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and helping friends.

Memorial services will be held at 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 22 at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville with Pastor Nathaniel Kincaid officiating.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
