Cora E. Barnes
MIFFLINTOWN - Cora E. Barnes, 89, a resident of the Berry's Personal Care Home in Mifflintown, died at 3:13 a.m., Sunday, July 5, 2009, at the Lewistown Hospital.
Born Sept. 21, 1919, in Granville, she was the daughter of the late Clarance A. and Florence M. (Kline) Michael. She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Barnes on March 16, 1979.
She is survived by her sons, Ronald E. Barnes and his wife Judi of Mt. Dora, Fla.; James A. Barnes of Los Angeles, Calif.; Guy E. Barnes and his wife Gail M., of Granville and Larry D. Barnes and his wife Rose Mary of Taylorville, Md.; 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
She is also survived by a brother, George Michael of Lewistown.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Feron, John and Bud Michael and four sisters, Esther Muskus, Ruth Fletcher, Marian Weaver and Nancy Staccone.
She was a homemaker and a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lewistown; she was also a member of the Women of the Moose Auxiliary having filled all the offices.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, at St. Mark's Episcopal Cemetery, Lewistown with the Rev. Gerald A. Krum officiating.
Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Avenue, Burnham.
