ANNVILLE - Mary E. Anderson, 96, a resident of the Lebanon Valley Home, Annville and formerly of 1012 River Road, McVeytown, died at 10:05 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2009, at the home.

Born Dec. 8, 1912, in Oliver Township, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur C. and Blanche (Rhoads) Swigart. Her husband, Clair R. Anderson, preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1999.

Surviving are children: Thelma DeFoy and husband Edward, of Moreno Valley, Calif., Donald C. Anderson and wife Lucinda, of Jonestown and Leona Vargas and husband Goby, of Falfurrias, Texas.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Esther Anderson and Ruth Anderson, a grandson, Dean Vargas, two brothers and a sister.

She was a homemaker and a member of Pine Glen Church of the Brethren, where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 2 at Pine Glen Church of the Brethren, Pine Glen Road, Lewistown, with the Rev. Ralph Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Spring Run Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorial contributions be made to Lebanon Valley Home Benevolent Fund, 550 E. Main St., Annville, PA 17003.
