This week's activities at the YMCA Youth Outdoor Adventure Program revolve around rock climbing. The group is traveling today to Greenwood Furnace State Park to rock climb on Hunter's Rock.

The YMCA Youth Outdoor Adventure Program is for boys and girls ages 10 to 14 who want to learn outdoor adventure skills and experience a variety of sporting activities, such as kayaking and rock climbing. So far this summer the campers developed team building skills by learning about geocaching and using a GPS unit, compass and topographical map; went hiking and camping by car and by backpack; and learned how to set up an emergency shelter while hiking. Next week is shooting sports week. They will be learning about archery, paintball guns, muzzleloaders and all types of firearms, plus how to properly use them safely.
