Hazel Marie Morgan

NORTHUMBERLAND - Hazel Marie Morgan, 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 21, 2009, at the Columbia-Montour Home Hospice, Danville. She was a resident for three years at Emmanuel Home, Northumberland and formerly resided in Selinsgrove and Kreamer.

She was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Decatur Township, Mifflin County, a daughter of the late Charles L. and Carrie E. (Snook) Arnold. In June of 1939, she married Cloyd James Morgan, who preceded her in death in 2001.

Hazel was a 1937 graduate of McClure High School and was a cheerleader and a member of the Glee Club.

She was a member of Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church and the Senior Saints fellowship group.

Hazel loved her family and was a wonderful mother, teacher cook and Christian example to her family. She enjoyed canning, sewing, quilting and needlework.

She is survived by: eight children and their spouses, Dennis Lee and Suzie (Penn) Morgan, of Washington, N.J., James Keith and Ann (Hopps) Morgan, of Roslindale, Mass., Charles William and Linda (Miller) Morgan, of Shippensburg, Ruth Ann and Leroy G. Reader, of York, Susan Eileen and Ray A. Clayberger, of Kreamer, David Allen and Kathy (Bahn) Morgan, of Rustburg, Va., Joseph Edward and Cathy (Penn) Morgan, of Petersburg, W. Va., and Beth Elaine and J. Robert Ranck, of Paradise; 17 grandchildren, Timothy, Christy, Cimmerian, Keren, Samantha, Kelly, Chad, Jody, Amy, Jason, Joseph, Joshua, Jonathan, Shaun, Carric, Nathan and Neal; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Charles "Bud" Arnold in 1980, two sisters, Beatrice Garthine Pearl Boonie in 1987, and Iva Catherine Brindle in 1999.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church, Catawissa Avenue, Sunbury, followed by a celebration of Hazel's life at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Charles Cole and the Rev. Bert Brosius officiating.

Burial will be in Samuel's Church Cemetery, McClure.
